I saw that on CNN yesterday. So now my mind has been made up and I am glad I waited it out and didn't go out and get one or the other.

I backed HDDVD, but the PS3 made the difference. I still think HDDVD was the better format, but Bluray has won. Now, if you are interested in just an upconverting DVD player, and aren't put off by the HDDVD logo, still buy the HD-A3 from Toshiba if you can find them. It has the same processor and does just as good of a job as the $1500 Denon DVD players.

About 25 years ago Sony had to swallow a bitter pill when VHS won out over Beta...guess it's their turn to rake in the profit.
